This ultra-compact 3x zoom offers Nikkor sharpness and versatility in a wide variety of shooting situations. The D40x is also compatible with Nikon’s AF-S and AF-I Nikkor lenses.

2.5" LCD screen: The large LCD lets you preview images at up to 19 times magnification and has large-type fonts with easy-to-view menus.

3fps continuous shooting: Capture high-quality action sequences of children in sporting activities such as soccer, baseball and much more.

Quick response: With a power-up time of a mere 0.18 seconds and a shutter release time lag of only 80 milliseconds, responsiveness is extraordinary.

In-camera editing menu: The in-camera editing features include Nikon D-lighting ( that adds light and detail to selected shots only where needed) , red-eye correction, image trimming, image overlay, monochrome black and white, sepia and cyanotype along with skylight, warm tone and custom color filter effects.

Advanced scene modes: Choose your mode, and this camera automatically adjusts settings such as shutter speed, color saturation, hue, tone, sharpening and more to adapt to the situation. This camera features eight different scene modes, including portrait, landscape, close-up and more.
